2018: A year of major awards and high scores for Viña Ventisquero

Viña Ventisquero’s wines have this year been recognized on various occasions, both nationally and internationally, and awarded excellent scores that reveal how the winery’s products have been of a consistent high quality throughout the last few years.

During the second half of the year, Viña Ventisquero received an important visitor: Spanish wine critic Luis Gutiérrez, the renowned taster for Chile for the respected international publication Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. The results for the winery were excellent: 12 wines improved their scores with respect to last year, and 18 wines earned more than 90 points.

During his visit, the critic showed how much he values Ventisquero’s work in the Atacama Desert, and how much he likes the Tara line. In fact, Tara White Wine 1 2016 received 94+ points, while Tara Red Wine 1 2016 scored 94 points.

Among the red wines, our Herú Pinot Noir 2016 was singled out, with 93 points, and Ventisquero Reserva País Moscatel 2016 with 90+ points.

We also had outstanding results in the famous Descorchados wine guide for 2019, by journalist and Chilean wine critic Patricio Tapia. 7 wines scored more than 95 points, for instance, Enclave 2015 and Tara White Wine 1 Chardonnay 2017 both received 96 points. Ventisquero Grey Merlot 2016 was also awarded the “Revelation” prize in the guide. These results have raised the bar even higher for next year for wines that consistently stand out for their quality.

This has been a year of harvesting great achievements and we are getting ready for 2019 with high expectations and lots of energy, preparing for new releases and opportunities for Viña Ventisquero.
