Viña Ventisquero highlighted in Tim Atkin’s report

Chile Report #2 2018’ is a complete report on Chile’s most outstanding wines and vineyards put together by renowned British critic Tim Atkin.

This report puts Viña Ventisquero in the “First Growth” category, which includes only the 15 best Chilean wineries.

The British critic also awarded high scores to wines that reveal the quality and geographic diversity of Viña Ventisquero. So, Tara White Wine 1 (Chardonnay) 2016 from the Atacama Valley earned 96 points, while Ventisquero Enclave Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 from Pirque, Kalfu Sumpai Syrah 2016 from the Leyda Valley and the blend Ramirana Trinidad Vineyard 2014 from the Maipo Valley all gained 95 points.

In addition to these outstanding scores, 5 of our wines were named wines of the year: Enclave 2013, Herú 2015, Tara White 1 2016, Kalfu Sumpai Syrah 2016 and Ramirana Trinidad 2014.

The report made special mention of the Grey line, for achieving consistently high scores over time, as a result of the careful processes and selection of valleys to find the best terroirs for each variety.

Among the surprises was the debut of Ventisquero Tara White Wine 2, a Viognier Solera from the Atacama Valley with 92 points and the 90 points achieved by Ventisquero Queulat Cinsault Gran Reserva 2016, which was recently launched in a more widely available wine category.
