Three wines from Viña Ventisquero receive awards in the 2018 Descorchados Guide

Four awards, 30 wines with over 90 points and 14 mentions in different rankings. Viña Ventisquero’s achievements in the 2018 Descorchados guide show the consistency and strength of its wines.

Once again, Tara, the wine from the Atacama Desert, has left its mark. This time, its new variety, which will soon hit the market, Tara White Wine 2 1st edition, earned the “Revelation Wine” and “Best Viognier” awards and ranked high with 95 points.

In this 20th version of the Descorchados Guide, prepared by expert wine critic and journalist, Patricio Tapia, the Cabernet Sauvignon wine Ventisquero Enclave 2014 also held a leading role with its 96 points and its “Best from Pirque” award.

The Kalfu coastal wines also did well. Kalfu Sumpai Syrah 2016, from the Leyda valley, earned 93 points and was awarded “Revelation Wine 2018”.

These four awards were joined by 14 mentions in different rankings and 30 wines with 90 points or more, including different varieties of wines in different price ranges. Viña Ventisquero’s achievements in the 2018 Descorchados Guide show the consistency and strength of its wines, along with the way in which it has been developing different wines with outstanding results.

Viña Ventisquero’s newest wines also had a grand debut in the guide. Ventisquero Reserva País Moscatel 2016 was ranked among the Super Price reds, with 90 points. The recently launched, highly acclaimed Ventisquero Grey Sauvignon Blanc 2017 from Atacama also stood out with its 94 points. And Ventisquero Queulat Cinsault 2016 – which is expected to hit the shelves by the end of the year – was ranked among the Best Cinsaults with 92 points.
