Ventisquero launches Obliqua, new High-end Carmenere

A new member joins the Ventisquero family of wines. It is Obliqua, a high-end carmenere that is born at the top of the Apalta Valley in the shadow of an ancient oak “Nothofagus Obliqua” from which its name comes.

The creation of this wine stems from a desire of Ventisquero to show the world the famous grape variety of Chile, the Carmenere, which with its deep red color and its present tannins, is a faithful representation of what our country is. The wine brought together the talent of the winemaker Felipe Tosso and the renowned Australian winemaker John Duval.

Obliqua was launched online in Chile in mid-2020, in Brazil at the end of 2020 and also in England during the first half of 2021 under the same modality.

The 3 events, led by the winemaker Felipe Tosso and the head viticulturist of Ventisquero Sergio Hormazábal brought together renowned journalists and sommeliers in each of these markets and demonstrated a level of digital event at the height of a Carmenere like Obliqua.
